Lifting Her Head

Look how well Elizabeth is holding her head! And she rolled into that position, too. What a doll... I just can't look at her without grinning back.

"Someday..." she said dreamily.

Excuse me while I play catch up on some of the photos I took this week...

Last weekend, Dad & I went to the North Place - the location where we've decided our house will be. My biggest stipulation was that I could see the water in the tank from my kitchen window while I'm doing dishes! Dad marked off an approximate house size & estimated that this will be the view from my kitchen window. We'll need to do some brush cleaning out, but that is the water glistening down there! YEAH!

Elizabeth Grows

Isn't that an adorable photo of Elizabeth & Dad?! I'm sure we'll be seeing it again next year for Dad's Father's Day collage!

Elizabeth turned 6 months old on Monday and is rolling all over the place! She chews and drools all over everything, so hopefully the teeth will come through soon. She also tries to sit up.

Below is my first picture of Aunt Sissy holding Elizabeth when she was here. Aunt Sissy also made that ladybug hat!

Ma & Pa with the Boys

Aunt Sissy was scanning some old family photos while she was visiting in Texas. - Did you see this one in the room where you stayed? Grandmama kept it on the shelf by the bed. Grandaddy is the brother on the right end.

Dad in the Paper

Hey, look! Dad was in today's Fort Worth Star Telegram! OK, so it's really a story about the female fire recruit, Dad is in the group picture below.

After working for a couple of medium sized newspapers in my graphic design career, the Fort Worth Star Telegram is big stuff!!!

Missions Update

Sorry for not posting more regular updates on Andy & Lauren as promised! Andy safely returned home from Thailand on Friday. I got to see his photos today & there are some really awesome ones! I'll see if they'll let me blog one with an elephant... ; ) And I'll link you to their blog when they put up photos. He's full of great stories, but exhausted right now. Continue to pray for him as he adjusts to being back home. His body and spirit has to readjust to this life we lead.

This is one of the photos we got while he was gone. Andy is in the black shirt.

Lauren is still in Peru. Their satellite phone is not working all that great, so we haven't heard much from them, just that they're OK. Continue to pray for their safety.

More Potty News

David has tt'd in his little potty 3 times now, he sat on the big potty at Wal-Mart and a gas station (and yes, the thought of my baby sitting on the public toilet was gross! and no, he didn't even actually go!), AND TONIGHT, tt'd in the big potty at home!!!!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July (yesterday)!

I was uploading my photos when my computer shut down, so you'll have to wait another day for the big slideshow, but I'll go ahead & tell you about our big day.

It was Mom & Dad's 9th wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been 9 years. USVI... we'll see you next year for the big one!!! YEAH!

Our annual 4th Family Reunion was held at Uncle Bubba's new house this year. Grandpa posted some photos here. About mid-afternoon, we came home for a nap before the party continued.
Back at Uncle Bubba's house, we had hot dogs & played some games before it got dark enough to start some fireworks. Dad went a little crazy at the firework warehouse, but David really enjoyed them. He loved holding the sparklers (the same kind we had at our wedding), and kept saying, "More sparklers, Dad.... I need more sparklers." Pictures tomorrow!

In the Potty !!!!!!!!!

Is it truly possible that in my three years of mommyhood, my proudest moment would arrive while squatting before a little potty?

flashback a minute or two...

David was in the bathroom helping Aunt Sissy gather up towels to wash when he said, "I need take diaper off." So she took off his diaper for him and he pulled out his little potty, opened the lid and sat down. (I have never been able to get him to sit on his potty sans diaper with out him crying!) This is where I walked in & Sissy told me what had happened so far, ending with the fact that nothing had happened yet.

I was just opening my mouth to comment on his position on the potty (I figured that if he *did* go, it would have just shot out onto the floor), when he leaned forward to look down. I squatted town & realized HE WAS GOING! And there, squatted before a plastic throne, I had my proudest Mommy moment yet.

He went on his own, in his own time, in his own position... Who knew I would be so proud of tt? We proudly announced the news to Grandma & Grandpa, called MawMaw, and I even called my best friend with the big news!
