The Girly Curtain

When my best friend was building their new house, she sent me this picture of the first room painted - the older girls' room.  I decided I wanted to make some cute curtains for them and her reply was, "Of course, I haven't thought about window treatments!"

They were planning on having mini-blinds, so I decided on a valance for the top of the window.  I searched for the perfect fabric for a couple of months and when I saw this, I was smitten!!!  It's pink, it's purple, it's princessy, it's fairyish, it's got a frog prince and Elizabeth was pleased to see that it also had ponies and puppies!

As if that's not girlie enough, I used pink sparkly tulle to make a tu-tu-type ruffle along the bottom of the curtain.  I am in love with this curtain!  I wish my room was pink & purple!

I had an extra curtain rod, so I had to see how it would look all bunched up & it was even cuter than when it's flat.  Elizabeth & Rebekah gave their hearty approval and played limbo under the curtain while I was photographing it.

My BFF & I play Santa for each other, filling each other's stockings.  This will be going into her stocking box this week.  I wish I could see them open it & I hope they love it as much as we do!!!

Goodwill Find of the Day

Today was Dad's follow-up appointment with the surgeon. Everything is healing nicely. The kids stayed with Grana so we enjoyed the outing... and the quiet! We had a nice lunch together and he was willing to go with me to the Goodwill Super Store! (It's so hard to go to Goodwill with 3 kids!) And here is the find of the day:

Metallic pink, fur lined Princess boots with glittery flowers that light up!!! For $3.00!!! They're the size larger than her summer shoes, so they should be fine when winter gets here. She has already declared, "Mama, I love these boots!" I have a feeling we'll be seeing them before winter.

And what's not to love???

I looked for some longer dresses for her, but they didn't have many dresses. I did get some little shorts to put under her dresses, though, so she won't look quite so much like a go-go dancer... except for the boots!

Three Days 'till Three Years!

Excitement is building as we count down to Elizabeth's birthday! Here, our little fashionita is styling in her pink Cookie Monster shirt with pink wind pants, topped in her pink leotard, wearing her "glass slippers" (which are actually silver with pink jewel flowers). To accessorize the ensemble - pink beads, assorted pink bracelets, and one of her pink wands. And that gives you a taste of what Elizabeth is all about.
