The Flamingo

We found this goofy flamingo hat at Dollar Tree last summer.  Right then & there, Elizabeth wanted to be a flamingo for Halloween.   I figured she could dress in pink with the hat & call it done.

Then I saw the bird wings tutorial on Prudent Baby... and I got ambitious.

 Standing on one foot.

Yes, that was a time consuming project, but I have to admit... I love them... perhaps as much as she does.  And there had better be years of play left on those wings after Halloween!  : )

Happy Halloween!

October was a busy month! I missed blogging several event because I was so busy, so I've put together a slide show. In addition to working on the house constantly, we also managed to visit a pumpkin patch, visit Aunt Erin in the hospital when Baby Mason was born, celebrate many birthdays, move our stuff into our house, attend a Fall Fest, and go Trick-or-Treating (to one house!).

I got a couple of videos so David's aunts could see his robot walk & robot voice:

Happy Halloween!

UPDATED to add this link to more photos
from Uncle Bubba:
Trunk or Treat 2007

This year for Halloween,
David was dressed as Super David, with the Power to Help!
(Super Why fans will understand that!)
Elizabeth was a ballerina.
We went to MawMaw's house,
then to Trunk or Treat at church.

David had so much fun!

Costumes, Anyone?

I don't know about you, but I've been wondering what David & Elizabeth might be for Halloween this year... and since we've moved, where are we going to go to show them??? I guess we might go see MawMaw, if she's not in school that evening. We went to "Fire Truck or Treat" the last few years with David.

Naturally, my first thought for David was a firefighter, but he said no. Then I asked him if he wanted to be the same thing he was last year & he said no. Then I think he said he wanted to be a doctor. Who knows what he will end up dressed as... or if he will even dress up when the time comes!

My first thought for Elizabeth, of course, was a ladybug! Actually, I already have a ladybug costume for next year packed away in a box. So then I thought a ballerina or princess would probably be the easiest thing to do. She has a little pair of slippers that my BFF gave us.

This website has lots of costumes to browse through to get some ideas of what you might like to be this year. Check back later this month (or November 1) to see what we actually turned into on October 31!
