It's Official

My hard drive is officially dead. Along with it went a ton of important emails in Outlook, my entire email address book, and my graphics programs. I had saved financial records, photos & documents onto flash drives before it went down, thank goodness.

So if you were in my address book, email me so I can save your email address on my web-based server! And be patient with my lack of photos until I figure out what to do about cropping & resizing them.

At the house: The laminate installers finished today, but we were short 2 rows of laminate, so we'll have to go pick that up later & finish it ourselves. The tile installers are on day two of their installation. The cabinet painters should have been there Monday finishing, but never showed up. Don't know when they'll be back to finish. Dad is frustrated at the people who don't show up when they're supposed to. Grandpa, Marvin & Dad started the corner post holes for the back fence this morning before the rain.

Lasting Effects of the Olympics

David is in the tub right now. I hear him shouting, "I'm gonna swim fast!" and "I'm gonna swim my backstroke!"

I went in to watch him for a bit. He starts at one end of the tub and says, "I'm gonna swim my backstroke!" Then he scoots backwards down the length of the tub. From that end he says, "I'm gonna swim my forward stroke!" and scoots back up to the other end.

Then he stretched out and said, "Mmmm... that golden medal sure is good!"

I should be blogging...

I know. I should be blogging. But I'm tired. I missed Muffin Tin Monday and Tiny Talk Tuesday and I'm doubtful that I'll get to Wordless Wednesday, though that one would be easy.

Today I tiled the mechanical room (the little room for the a/c, water heater, breaker box, water manifold, etc) and got the bathroom ready to tile tomorrow. Mr. Builder fired our electrician so a new pair started today. They accomplished more today than I've ever seen the other guy do, so that's good. We unloaded about half of the laminate flooring and Dad unloaded the shower tile while I was tiling the mech room. It's so exciting to be in the "final stages"! I'll try to get some photos tomorrow to show you.

Tag Blankets

I seem to be getting a lot of hits from people who want to know how to make a tag blanket for their baby. If that's you, leave me a comment & I'll see if I can do a tutorial or something. I've also been asked to do a tutorial for my ladybug diaper!

More Potty News

David has tt'd in his little potty 3 times now, he sat on the big potty at Wal-Mart and a gas station (and yes, the thought of my baby sitting on the public toilet was gross! and no, he didn't even actually go!), AND TONIGHT, tt'd in the big potty at home!!!!

Kiddo Updates

I tried to post some new pictures tonight, but my computer shut down before I finished, so this will be a photoless post. Elizabeth is growing like a weed! She sat up on the couch with Grandma for a little bit yesterday. Tonight, we went down to the garage & dug out The Baby Book, the baby food & formula. Nursing is still going well, but I tried making the infant cereal with formula tonight instead of water & it made a big difference! She was sucking it off the spoon!

David got his first bloody nose yesterday. He was in the bedroom on the window bench & I think he fell into the window sill. Later he also fell down both steps into the living room and also fell in the kitchen. Tonight he also tripped. Could his feet be growing or something?

David will turn 3 on Sunday!

No Photo Thursday

Sorry, I have no photos today. I've been too busy to download the camera! I don't know if they'll read this, but I want to publically thank MawMaw & Aunt Erin for their help this week. They headed back home today and even offered to watch David while we house hunt this weekend.

My pile of boxes continues to grow and has expanded to other locations around the house. The kitchen cabinets are now all empty except for food - we're eating on paper plates and since I packed all my plasticware, ziplock baggies are now my new best friend! Bookshelves are empty, walls are bare, cats are confused. Ebay sales have also picked up this week, so I've also had to spend some time packing & shipping those items.

I did get to spend some Mom-time with David today & afterwards, much to my relief, the screaming stopped. Poor little guy, I guess he just doesn't understand what's going on and why Mom is so busy. Note to self: make sure to get Mom-David time in EVERY DAY!

Now I'm off to pack our bags for our house-hunting trip this weekend... will keep you posted.
