Trying to catch the smile

The last few days I have been trying to catch Sweet Sarah's Smile.  Here are some of the precious pictures I have gotten.

Picture & Doctor Day

Today was a busy day for our beautiful little one year old! We made another trip to our nearest Sears Portrait Studio where a wonderful girl took Elizabeth's one year old portraits. I was really happy with how they turned out. The portrait below is the one I picked for my package. If I usually send you a picture when we have pictures taken, this is the one you'll get after I pick them up in February:

After getting some lunch, then we tried yet another new doctor for Elizabeth's 12-month check up.... and we'll try another doctor for her 15-month check-up, because this guy was worse than the last one we went to! Anyway, all that matters is that she's healthy. She weighed in at 18 pounds, 8 oz. She's 27.5" tall. I have no idea where that falls on the chart, but it doesn't matter anyway.

Elizabeth's 9-month Portraits

We had Elizabeth's 9-month pictures taken today. She was a bit stone-faced, but the photographer was able to get a few grins out of her.

I asked if she could take one with David kissing the top of Elizabeth's head, but Elizabeth looked so blank in that one that the photographer took this one instead.

Picture Day

Some of these may be fuzzy... they're just proofs. I was a little late, but today we had David's 3-year-old photos and Elizabeth's 6-month-old photos taken. Here's what I learned:

• 1) Schedule their appointments on separate days if you don't want them photographed together (and I didn't). Doing it at the same time, the portrait studio counted it as one session & wouldn't let me purchase 2 of the cheap packages!
• 2) I should have never requested a change in the background from this bland white that the photographer started with!
  

I think we did get some cute pictures of David. As expected, his busted lip shined. Then he got tired of cooperating. Then came the background change. Then things went south... and I told the photographer to photograph it. Boy, he's gonna love me for this, isn't he?

And for this, David lost his privilege to ride the escalator (a.k.a. the moving stairs).

It's a good thing Elizabeth's session went better, because I was about to walk out.

I don't really have much to say about her session. It went great! Of course David calmed down quickly when it wasn't him in the spotlight.
