Grocery Shopping

It's all a matter of perspective...

I remember life BC (before children). In the first year of marriage, a trip to get groceries was something we did together as husband and wife. We tried new things that looked good. It was fun.

Then we moved and conflicting work schedules plus the 30-minute drive to town changed the togetherness of grocery shopping.

Then David was born. I wondered how in the world I'd ever get the shopping done. But I got used to it & it got easier.

Then Elizabeth was born. I wonder how in the world I'll ever get the shopping done. I figured out that with the baby strapped to my chest and the toddler in the basket, it's not as hard as it was when David was new.

Then I ran into a friend at Wal-Mart today. A pregnant friend, who was pushing a basket with a preshooler in the seat and two older kids walking beside her... followed by her husband who was pushing a double stroller for the twins and had the baby on his back in a pack.

Suddenly my trip to Wal-Mart seemed easy. And I wondered if Mrs. Restivo still gives out little plastic perspective flies to her physics class...

What are you doing March 3?

Plan to be looking up on the evening of March 3 for a lunar eclipse!

David Likes Straws

David likes straws.

I really have been trying to think of something worthwhile to say on my blog, but haven't been able to come up with anything. Guess the babies are causing my brain cells to shrivel. Oh, here's something good:
.
Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward Him for the life of your young children.

All Smiles

I'm trying to catch up on some pictures.... I've been a bit busy lately. There's a big difference between one and two!

Here is David enjoying the stickers that he got in MawMaw's Valentine card - Mater & Red from the movie Cars.

I thought this was a good picture of just how cute Elizabeth is! Isn't she sweet?!?!

I know it's fuzzy, but you gotta be quick to catch this little smile - but it's worth it!

And here's the smile that will charm millions. David loves his "happy shirt" from Grandma.

Then we have some thumbnails of more holding (click to see more):

LOVE the Cat Hat

Now that I have a girl to dress, and she's starting to fit in more than footies, I may be posting pictures of her in a different outfit every day! : )

David was the perfect Valentine today! I'm thankful he's such a good boy...

...because it's highly possible that I may go mad by the time I fall into bed tonight! Somehow, Elizabeth stopped crying long enough to take a few cute Valentine photos:

Here she is all "ladybugged out"!

Today was Elizabeth's first day to wear pants! Isn't she cute when she's not crying?

Valentines & the 1-Month Check-up

David was the only boy in his MDO class today & he raked it in! Some kids brought Valentines from home & others made them in class. The cute photo of David standing by the heart flowers is a magnet for Mom's fridge! : )

Today was Elizabeth's 1-month check-up at the doctor's office. She's actually 5 weeks old today. At her 2-week, she weighed her birth weight of 7 lbs, 12 oz. Today she was up to 9 lbs, 5 oz! And she was 21 3/4" long (born 20). Dr. S finished removing the umbilical cord stump thingie - it had been hanging on quite tightly by one "thread". In 2 days she'll be able to take a real bath, now! Everything else was fine; he was very impressed with how much she'd grown. No shots or pricks today. Those will resume at her 2-month appointment.

D&E Together

Elizabeth helped me wake David on Sunday morning.

After laying there looking at him twirl his hair for a while, I suddenly realized she appeared to be trying to twirl her hair too! Coincidence or mimicking already?

Today I got the neatest pin cushion in the mail! My Sister, Crochet Genius! She also makes scarves & hats.
