Tiny Talk & Bluebonnets

Saturday before last, David went to a birthday party where they watched the new dragon movie in 3-D! Doesn't he look cool in his glasses? That was really interesting to see & hear all the 5 & 6 year old kids jumping and exclaiming about the 3-D action!

Dad took us on a fun outing that evening, too! Right off the bat a ladybug landed on Elizabeth!

Dad got in a little fishing and I got to take some pictures.

I've determined that I will never get all my kids to look at the camera at the same time...

Now for some tiny talk while you enjoy the bluebonnets...

Rebekah can say Fluff (the cat's name). It sounds like FUF!!!!!!!

Elizabeth sat in my lap as I checked on facebook and said: Mom, I want to play the Aunt Jana game.
Mom: What's the Aunt Jana game?
Elizabeth: Bunnies and no cows! No bunnies! There's bunnies in her yard!
I have absolutely no idea what she's talking about! Does that have anything to do with Farm Town???

The most exciting tiny talk of the week was this - After bedtime prayers, David turned to me and said: Mom? I'm fixin' to ask Jesus into my heart.
It took me off guard, but I asked him what that meant and what he believed about God & Jesus.
He answered my questions, then rolled over & said: Dear God, please let Jesus come into my heart. Amen.

In an effort to delay bedtime, David quickly figured out that I'll spend time to answer certain questions. Last night he said: So, Mom, let's talk some more about heaven and hell.

We read something about China recently & he's been fascinated by it. During his bedtime prayers he prayed: And help everyone to have good dreams, even the Chinese people.

Yet another delay in falling asleep, David got up & came to me saying: Mom! There's a mosquito in my room!
Mom: Well, swat at it! (because I know there's not much you can do to actually get rid of a mosquito in your room at night)
David, with a horrified look on his face: But I might get bug inside on my hand! I don't like bug inside on my hand.

And have you heard the news? Tiny #4 is now on his/her way!

Growing Up: 18-months

I cleaned out her toy box tonight & put up all the rattles, teethers & baby toys. Then I cried.

Celebrating Elizabeth's 18-months

Yes, the 9th totally slipped by last week without my notice. Bad Mommy. To catch up, I took some 18-month photos on Sunday. Now Blogger won't let me add photos.... guess you'll have to check back later for them... or hit my Flickr.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

I am making a point to remember the talking this week! and the singing... and the squeaking... and the squealing... and the quacking...

David still spontaneously breaks into verses of 12 Days of Christmas, but more & more variety comes out each week. Yes, he's our in-house variety show, appearing live daily on the kitchen stool.

David's really into cars. One day Grandma asked him what his favorite color is; he replied, "Ferrari red."

David is very observant about little things. One day while playing with Boost, from the movie Cars, he observed, "Boost has a beard!" That's Boost to the right. Do you see how his black ground effects resemble Grandpa's beard?

While David was playing with his Larry Mobile, Elizabeth picked up Larry Boy. I heard David say, "No, don't eat Larry Boy! You eat food!" He seemed a little disappointed when I told him that cucumbers were food!

While reading a Touch & Feel Farm book with Elizabeth, she repeated duck and quack! She has quacked before, but this was her first duck! Later in the tub, she was excitedly waving the little ducky in the air saying, "Duck, duck, quack, quack!"

As I was changing Elizabeth into her PJ's one evening...

Mom to Dad: I just love "neked" baby skin! She's so soft & squishy & rolly-polly!

David, who was playing nearby: She's not a rolly polly, she's a ladybug!

Nothing boosts your self esteem like this one...

Mom: David, you're soooo cute!

David: Elizabeth is cute!

Mom: That's right, Elizabeth is cute, too.

David: Mom is cute!

Mom: Aw, thank you, David!

At bedtime prayers...

David: Blimp! (referring to his Lightyear Blimp from Cars)

Watching Sesame Street with the letter of the day "B", David declared, "B is for Blue Blimp!"

This one was not either of my children, but last week in Cubbies, the teacher told the story of the 10 lepers using a flannel board. I guess one little boy had been to church enough to know the usual answer to the teacher's question...

Teacher: How many men are here on the board?

Boy: GOD!

Costumes, Anyone?

I don't know about you, but I've been wondering what David & Elizabeth might be for Halloween this year... and since we've moved, where are we going to go to show them??? I guess we might go see MawMaw, if she's not in school that evening. We went to "Fire Truck or Treat" the last few years with David.

Naturally, my first thought for David was a firefighter, but he said no. Then I asked him if he wanted to be the same thing he was last year & he said no. Then I think he said he wanted to be a doctor. Who knows what he will end up dressed as... or if he will even dress up when the time comes!

My first thought for Elizabeth, of course, was a ladybug! Actually, I already have a ladybug costume for next year packed away in a box. So then I thought a ballerina or princess would probably be the easiest thing to do. She has a little pair of slippers that my BFF gave us.

This website has lots of costumes to browse through to get some ideas of what you might like to be this year. Check back later this month (or November 1) to see what we actually turned into on October 31!

Tag Blankets

I seem to be getting a lot of hits from people who want to know how to make a tag blanket for their baby. If that's you, leave me a comment & I'll see if I can do a tutorial or something. I've also been asked to do a tutorial for my ladybug diaper!

David Said... Tag Blankets... First Mention of Christmas!

David is so cute! It's amazing how much he's talking now-a-days! Last night he gave me an ovation when I finished singing "Amen" after our bedtime prayers. Talk about warming a mom's heart!

This morning on the way to church, David suddenly called out, "1, 2, 3! Everybody's counting!" We cracked up!

Elizabeth's 3 Months Old!

Moving Day (April 9) was Elizabeth's 3-month-old birthday! Can you believe it??? I sure can't!

Kudos to Sears Portrait Studio for another great set of pictures! (Of course, they had a wonderful subject to photograph anyway!) I ordered a package in this first pose. They'll be ready in two weeks.

Top Her Off

When we arrived at Grandma & Grandpa's on Monday, we were greeted by 2 packages from Aunt Sissy! Cute, cute, cute stuff! Thanks, Aunt Sissy!!!! Here is Elizabeth modeling 2 of the items that Aunt Sissy made.

MDO Egg Hunt

Since we're officialy un-enrolled in MDO now, we just went in for the Easter Egg Hunt today. We arrived just in time to hide our dozen eggs and get David in line with his class and the next class older.

Here they are heading across the parking lot to the grassy area.

At the edge of the grassy area, they lined the children up &

told them to wait until everyone was ready.

David's teacher is the one in the blue shirt & black shorts.

Once they were told to go, David was distracted by
a car driving across the parking lot. The eggs were to the left!


Finally joining the hunt...
I'm starting to think we should have practiced some before coming!
David was walking around saying, "Egg, where are you?"
and the bigger kids were faster than him.

After all the eggs had been found, David had 3!

The teachers told them to sit down on the sidewalk for pictures.

Now remember, for the last few minutes, everyone was telling them

to look for eggs and put them in their baskets...

and David got really upset when he was told he couldn't

take them out of the other kid's basket to put in his!

Here they are... David's still throwing a fit.
Then he threw his basket out into the parking lot.
: \ I was so proud.

Yes, that was sarcasm.

Back inside, the teachers gathered their baskets &

put 12 eggs in each basket. And David left happy.

Photo Tag: What Are You Carrying?

This week's Photo Tag wants to see what kind of bags we carry! Mine is the ladybug bag I made to match my baby bedding, boppy cover, wall hanging, and Mei Tai. I made sure that it was big enough to carry my wallet, Elizabeth's diapers & wipes, an extra onesie & burp rag, and an extra diaper for David. My sister helped me put the zipper on the top so that when Dad tosses it into the back seat of the car, everything doesn't fall out... unless I forget to zip it! It's hard to see in the photo, but I also put a cell phone pocket in the front, too. And it's got some pockets inside for the little stuff.

While David was at MDO today, I got our taxes done! YEAH! I wonder how long it will take to get our refund?

The boxes are now expanding to other locations in the house. In fact, I need to get more boxes. I can't even get to my bed now because it's covered with boxes, too!

... and miles to go before I sleep ...

Two Months Already???

I can't believe it's been two months already. This photo was the day we came home from the hospital. At today's check-up, Elizabeth weighed in at 10 pounds, 7.5 oz. My how time flies...


We'd also like to wish a Happy First Birthday to our friend Lavery!


In other news... I'd like to join everyone else in congratulating my husband on getting hired by the Fort Worth Fire Department on his first try! I'm proud of you, baby.

... Now I've got only 3 weeks to pack up house & find a new one!!! AAAAHHH!!!
