David Turns 3 ! ! !

Today was David's 3rd Birthday! I can hardly believe that it is possible to love someone so much that you've only known for 3 years. It seems like he's always been a part of me... and I guess he has been. Here are a few pictures from his birthday party today, which had to be moved indoors due to rain. Many, many thanks to MawMaw for letting us party at her house!!!

When we got back to Grandma & Grandpa's house, I assembled the Bubble Mower. I think David would have mowed the grass for hours!

GrandpaVenture

Thursday - David, Elizabeth, and Mom went with Grandpa on what I believe was both D&E's first GrandpaVenture! (Notice the computer? It was hooked up to his GPS!)

We saw some pretty wildflowers along the way.

But the main attraction was to see the remodeling of the Bosque County Courthouse. Also had a discussion about "bosque"... so here's a tidbit from Wikipedia:
Bosque is the name for areas of riparian forest found along the flood plains of stream and river banks in the southwestern United States. It derives its name from the Spanish word for woodlands.

Grandpa also made a couple stops for some Geocaching. One was near a park, near the Bosque River.

And the other stop was in a cemetery. We noticed how a secluded cemetery suddenly becomes crowded when you're trying to hide a cache!

Kiddo Updates

I tried to post some new pictures tonight, but my computer shut down before I finished, so this will be a photoless post. Elizabeth is growing like a weed! She sat up on the couch with Grandma for a little bit yesterday. Tonight, we went down to the garage & dug out The Baby Book, the baby food & formula. Nursing is still going well, but I tried making the infant cereal with formula tonight instead of water & it made a big difference! She was sucking it off the spoon!

David got his first bloody nose yesterday. He was in the bedroom on the window bench & I think he fell into the window sill. Later he also fell down both steps into the living room and also fell in the kitchen. Tonight he also tripped. Could his feet be growing or something?

David will turn 3 on Sunday!

Elizabeth is all smiles as she practices sitting up on the couch.

Kitten, Kitten, Who Wants a Kitten?

Grandma has been working hard to get homes for these adorable little balls of fur! Katrina has asked to see some more photos of the yellow kittens. So here you go, Katrina!

David & I have been calling these two Spunky and Junior, but you can call them whatever you want.

Spunky likes to crawl all over the place... especially over his momma, Miss Kitty.

Junior
seems

Doesn't Miss Kitty look happy?

New Things!

Can you believe it? Elizabeth is 4 months old! At her check-up yesterday, she weighed over 13 pounds! Everything else checked OK. She's right on target for her weight and in the 75th percentile on her length! And, I think, in the 100th percentile on cuteness! : )

Elizabeth enjoys sitting up with support, is very alert, and loves to look around. She is starting rice cereal this week and is still not sure about it...

How about those big, brown eyes! The first photo I have of David eating is wearing the same bib!
Love for your children is overwhelming...

Bob's Turkey

When we returned from Quilt Club this morning, Bob Barker (the dog) was quite excited. In the mesquite tree above my parking spot, he had treed a wild turkey! I don't remember ever seeing wild turkey around here before, but we had lots of them in West Texas. I guess Bob finally lost interest after the bird sat still in the tree for a long time & the turkey was able to get away.

Happy Mother's Day 2007

Happy Mother's Day to every Mom that reads this!

Background photo by My Brother.
UPDATE: Here's a picture of my Momma (aka Grandma) sporting her lovely Mother's Day corsage.
Below, apparently my photographer was more interested in the kids than me! I guess that's ok, though, since she is their Great-Grandmother!
There's a picture of me & my Little Ladybug at the bottom. This was, of course, Elizabeth's first Mother's Day!

Do I have any cute pictures?

I can't believe I haven't posted in a week! Aunt Sissy asked if I had any cute pictures this week...

Of course, I do!!!

Here is Elizabeth laughing at Mom.

Here is David smiling for the camera. Funny thing - Grandpa got a new camera recently & was playing with it one day. When David saw him with the camera, he stopped what he was doing & started smiling at him.

Here's Grandma showing off my favorite kitten (left). I think this is the one that MawMaw needs to adopt! : )

The kittens hugging (right) was not posed! They just happened to be like that one day when I went in to look at them. Doesn't the little yellow kitten's face look happy, too?!

Also this week, I took some senior portraits of Erin. I thought they turned out very well.

Andy's Prom

OK, I'm going to be nostalgic tonight... Check Uncle Bubba's blog to see if he's posted more prom details yet.

The picture below is my brother holding my oldest nephew at my high school graduation. Yes, I'm that old! ; )

This is my brother showing my nephew how to tie his tie for prom tonight.

I can't believe how time flies. But doesn't he look handsome all dressed up over to the left? And below, here is Uncle Bubba chilling with Elizabeth.

Sleeping Beauty

Wednesday Night Storms

We were lucky not to suffer too much damage in Wednesday night's storm. It was quite scary, though and were without power for a few hours.
Remember a few days ago, David was playing in the sand box? The lid blew off his sand box, but all the toys were still there. We found the lid a little ways down the hill.
One of my hanging baskets blew out of the tree & smushed on side of the basket. And David's coup blew into the tree, but was not damaged.
David was most upset about the little windmill having blown over. This afternoon as we were riding on the golf cart with Grandpa, David said, referring to the windmill, "Grandpa fix, please?"
