The Arboretum: The Flowers

Today Grandpa took us to Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum.  It was beautiful, as usual.  I can't decide which photos I like best, so I'm just gonna show you most of them.  Click on any photo to enlarge it.  In other posts, I'll show our kid & family fun and the educational opportunity.  Enjoy the blooms!

We had commented on the grassy areas and then
we saw this guy sweeping the freshly mowed grass!

Welcome Spring with the Super Moon!

The "Super Moon" as it arose on the horizon.  It's dark, but you can kinda make out the playhouse in the foreground.  The kids were excited to see it so bright orange and large as it came up.  Click on that link to see a comparison photo & explanation of why it's called super.

(It's times like these when I wish I had a really good camera with a long range lens!  Repeating to myself, "Thou shalt not covet...")

I saw lots of really good photos on the wall at Texas Parks & Wildlife on Facebook.  Some of my favorites are a classic Texas Moon and wow over the detail of this close-up!!

Here's a little taste of the excitement that went on at our house as we watched the moon ascend:

Four sure is cute!

Prepare to be amazed by the cuteness of Rebekah David Elizabeth Fluff Sarah!  Aw, shucks... it's just easier to say FOUR!  (so if you're not just enthralled by tons of pictures of the most adorable baby ever, you might want to just click on through...)

A week & a half ago, Sarah was working on getting her head up during tummy time.

Now look at her as she's being cheered on by Big Sister!

And I'm always trying to catch that elusive, but beautiful smile!

heh heh...

She's smiling more & more every day! Now look at her!  These were yesterday:

"What was that?!"
David kissed the top of her head
right as I snapped the picture!

Oh, yeah!

Doesn't that just grab your heart and never ever let go?
Maybe it's just me.
Oh, how I'm glad it's me.

TT Tuesday and Our Zoo Review Folder

Oh!  I almost missed Tuesday!  There's never a dull moment around here.  While many people are having spring break this week, we're not completely... We took Monday off to meet some friends at McD's for a play date.  Just now realized I should have taken my camera!  Oh well.  Today, we worked some more on our Zoo Review from last Tuesday's field trip.  Now there's a place that gets CRAZY on Spring Break Week!  Soooo glad we went last week!

I have to admit, the Zoo Review project turned into something for ME and not just a school project.  David wrote out all his animal answers, and I made him sound everything out, only giving a hint on the f sound in elephant.  He matched up photos and handwriting, drew his picture, but then the lost scrapbooker inside me took over.  David carried on with some other school work while I finished the folder.  I couldn't help it.  But maybe I needed that.

Half way through his math, David said, "Hey, I know what you're doing.  You're trying to trick me into having school!"  I told him there was no trick to it!  We will be having a regular school day on Wednesday, celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Thursday (which will include some school disguised as fun), and having a play day on Friday.

Other tiny talk that has been overheard this week...

Wow, that's a lot of toilet paper.  You must have a big bottom.  (I'm not telling who said that to whom.)

Smell my feet.  They smell like lemons!

Cha-ma-milk!  Cha-ma-milk!  Cha-ma-milk... (the chanting of "chocolate milk" continues from the time I announced that I was making it, until it was going down her almost 2-year-old throat)

Oh, what fun it is!
