Leaf Pile Peek-a-Boo!

David & Mom were in the yard this (HOT) afternoon. When I (Mom) went into the shed to look for a screwdriver, I heard an unusual amount of leaf crunching... Thinking David was just walking around, I didn't think much of it... until I came out & found David in a pile of leaves!

He did not make the pile. I did that last week thinking that he might like it. Of course, at that time, he was not interested in it.

Knowing a cute picture when I see one, I raced inside for my camera. I took several pictures, but when I got down in front of the pile, David got tickled & started playing peek-a-boo behind the leaves! It was sooooo cute!!!

Oh, I also finally found some new shoes for him. (I saw thousands of little girl shoes in my search for little boy shoes! Ridiculous!) Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. One of the front velcro straps has a fire truck on it! And coolest yet... they light up!

New Table & Chairs

Some of you know that I've been looking for a new table & chairs that was David-sized. Well, lookie here! We got the chairs at Hobby Lobby for half price and I made the table! I do plan on painting the chairs... some day. I can sit at the table, too, but my knees don't fit under it. The good thing is that I put screw-on legs on it, so as David grows, we can just add new legs to make the table taller!

Here is David using his new table again for snack time. I tried to trick him today. I put milk in his juice cup! He took a few sips, then stopped. I gave him another juice cup with juice in it & he drank.... Then I poured the milk into a milk cup (a Nuby) and he drank all of the milk! He's very smart... just picky!

After snack, we had coloring time on the new table and yes, it got broken in! Thank you Mr. Clean for the Magic Eraser! It worked like a charm to lift the blue marks that don't show up too well in this photo.

Did I mention that I found this in the dryer one day? While the dryer was running? David helped me load wet clothes into the dryer & I started it. A little bit later I thought, "That wasn't jeans in the dryer... why is it so loud???" It was Woody! David had been playing with him before helping me!

Pray for Grandma - She's back at home now, but not getting around very well. She's having to use a walker. Pray for a full recovery!

Please Leave...

MOPS resumed tonight after a Christmas break. Mom was excited and built it up to David all day long! Unfortunately, David did not take a nap this afternoon...

And can you believe that this happy child seen to the right was asked to be removed from MOPS tonight???

When they served supper, he didn't eat (hot dogs & chips - how could he not eat that?), then was grumpy, then crying and by 7:15, they asked me to come get him! We got there at 5:45, so he lasted a while. He calmed when I picked him up & was happy as we walked out of the building.

Turns out, poor baby was HUNGRY! Guess they didn't try to feed him again after everyone else was done. He ate a lot, drank 3/4 cup of juice and a whole cup of milk, played a little, and went to bed without a peep by 8:30! The photo was right after brushing his teeth.

Pray for Grandma - she was admitted to the hospital tonight with immense hip pain (both hips have previously been replaced) . No word what's going on yet....

Home Again, Home Again, Jigity Jog

Grandma, Grandpa & Dumplin' brought David, Tort & Mom back home on Tuesday. David & Dad were excited to see each other after a few days apart!

I tried to catch David looking at Dumplin'... it was so cute, but he stopped before my camera was ready.

Here is David this morning in his new chair playing with his ABC's - happy to be home!

Much to our surprise, David is getting back into his normal schedule very well. He went to bed tonight at 8:00 with out a peep! (Unlike last night & every night at Grandma & Grandpa's house!)

Here is his afternoon nap in a new sweat suit he got from Aunt Jana for Christmas. It's a perfect fit! He fell asleep watching The Muppet Show.

Our Last Day at Grandpa's

Today was our last full day at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Grandma is finally feeling good enough to hold David after her surgery. I'm sure she was glad to get in some snuggle time!

Aunt Sissy, Lauren & Jordann went back to California today. Here they are at DFW with all their bags. Believe it or now, they were able to carry it all! We enjoyed our time with them! Wish we could see them more often... We love you!

After dropping them off, we went to the observation park where David enjoyed watching airplanes take off & land and running around on the grass. Now that I think of it, this is the only green grass we've seen in a while! They must water!

Happy New Year!

Today, David visited the nursery at Grandma & Grandpa's church and he had a ball! He was greeted by Nell, who took him and began telling him that she kept his Mommy in the nursery when she was little, too! He was fascinated by this car in his room, so we took it with us to the family reunion. We took it back to his class room later.

Jordann drew this lovely picture of Tort on her bulletin during church. I thought it was really cute! Tort seems to be enjoying his visit at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Here is David's newest cousin, Madeline, that we met for the first time today at our family reunion today.

David also met another Madeline, who he played in the same vicinity as... I can't really say that they played with each other, because they both seemed to be scared of each other! This Madeline is 2 1/2.

Here is a great picture of David with all of his first cousins on Mom's side!

Aunt Sissy, did you pinch David to make him cry, or what??? : )

Black Dog had a rough night last night and was not feeling well today. He lost some blood and is not very active today. He didn't eat or drink today. Hopefully he will improve with some more rest.

As the sun began to set, a dark cloud could be seen on the horizon. By the time the sun was gone, we could begin to smell the smoke from acres & acres that were burning today to the west. After a trip to visit with MawMaw this evening, the smell was even stronger and smoke could be seen in the air.

Thursday: Fun Day!

Grandpa looks in the back of the truck while Lauren, Aunt Sissy & Jordann huddle around David. Grandpa drove us up to cash in some Christmas money/gift cards!

Missing authentic Tex-Mex food in CA, Aunt Sissy, Lauren & Jordann enjoyed this stop at Taco Cabana! Dad & Grandma are down there by David.

At Lincoln Square:Mom & David pose on a hippo. David & dad cross the parking lot looking at airplanes.

David has fun riding in the car!

Thursday night we celebrated Uncle Phil's birthday with more Mexican food! Left to right: Mitch, Aunt Jana, Papa, Grana, MawMaw, Aunt Erin, Uncle Phil, Dad & David.

Aunt Jana loves to love on David!!! And David loves right back! (Most of the time!) : )

Christmas at Grandpa's

Wednesday was another fun day at Grandpa's house! We had our traditional chicken & dressing Christmas dinner for lunch and had some fun outside. We opened Christmas presents in the evening when Uncle Bubba got in from work.

Aunt Wee took David & Mom for a ride in the golf cart. Then David walked with Mom & Aunt Wee all the way to the bottom & back up the hill.

Black Dog is recovering pretty well from his amputation surgery. Grandpa says, "He acts like he's had three legs all his life!" Grandma replied, "Well, he has!"

Grandpa takes Black Dog for exercise several times a day, but leaves him tied up much of the time so he won't run off & get hurt. This former stray dog is now quite expensive!

David thought Grandpa's "uni-goat" was pretty funny! (Nanny's other horn just fell off a few months back!)

David gets along great with his cousins! Here he is playing with Andy.

My, what big hair you have, Andy!

Here is David with the whole pile of cousins on this side of the family before we opened Christmas presents: Andy, Will, Jesse, Lauren, Jordann & David. Aren't they cute?

David & Lauren enjoy each other. We're all glad to see them visiting from California. We miss them!

Feeling the Love!

Monday evening Dad called home from work to say that he'd gotten PM vacation & would be home in 30 minutes! David sat down with some milk & a Baby Faith DVD while Mom then scrambled to finish getting everything ready for our trip. Then we hit the road! Yeah! Finally headed "home" for the holidays! We arrived at Grandma & Grandpa's house about 2:15 a.m. - all 3 of us pooped!

Tuesday morning... let the lovin' begin! Aunt Wee couldn't wait to get her hands on her Smushy to give him smushies all over. (don't ask me!) : ) Andy was glad to see us too.

Since this is David's blog... I will keep this mainly to photos of David...

By mid-afternoon, we were at MawMaw's house for our first round of Christmas. Grana & Papa came to watch David open presents. David seems to have warmed up pretty well to Papa!

MawMaw got David some huge board books about race cars & trucks. Here they are reading together, surrounded by MawMaw's toy collection.

David also loves Uncle Phil, who always treats him so sweetly!

David loves things that turn & spin! The last picture is Aunt Jana's boyfriend (Mitch) showing David how to work the big metal top.

The Day After Christmas

This was the day after Christmas... resting up for our big trip to see family! You can kind of see David's Christmas bruise.

We are amazed at the number of hits that David's blog is getting. Leave a comment & let us know who you are!
