Andy's Prom

OK, I'm going to be nostalgic tonight... Check Uncle Bubba's blog to see if he's posted more prom details yet.

The picture below is my brother holding my oldest nephew at my high school graduation. Yes, I'm that old! ; )

This is my brother showing my nephew how to tie his tie for prom tonight.

I can't believe how time flies. But doesn't he look handsome all dressed up over to the left? And below, here is Uncle Bubba chilling with Elizabeth.

Sleeping Beauty

Wednesday Night Storms

We were lucky not to suffer too much damage in Wednesday night's storm. It was quite scary, though and were without power for a few hours.
Remember a few days ago, David was playing in the sand box? The lid blew off his sand box, but all the toys were still there. We found the lid a little ways down the hill.
One of my hanging baskets blew out of the tree & smushed on side of the basket. And David's coup blew into the tree, but was not damaged.
David was most upset about the little windmill having blown over. This afternoon as we were riding on the golf cart with Grandpa, David said, referring to the windmill, "Grandpa fix, please?"

Eat Ice Cream Without Guilt!

That's right - calories don't count on ice cream eaten for a good cause! : )

Find your local Baskin-Robbins to participate in this benefit for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Click Here for specific details on the event.

The NFFF not only supports the family of fallen firefighters, but they are also working to reduce the number of deaths in the line of duty. That's something I am more than happy to support!!!!

Teeny Tiney Miew

Miss Kitty's (Grandma's cat) water broke last night right before bedtime! At 7:30 a.m. today, she had 3 kittens... At 8:00 she had 4 kittens... At 8:30 she had 5 kittens and stopped! All this took place in Grandma's closet in the bed we had prepared for the delivery. I'll try to get some better pictures to post later. I have been doing my best not to touch them yet, but it sure is hard!!! From what I can tell, there are 2 yellow (one with nice white accents), and 3 black (one solid black, one with white - a Helen cat, and one mostly black with some calico patches).

This Week

I am having a hard time getting into a routine in our temporary housing... except that Monday is still my big laundry day. Here are some pictures I've taken in the last week:
Elizabeth is fascinated by David. She smiles & laughs at his antics. It's really cute to watch!

Here are Grandma & David playing in the sand box.

OH - We got a contract on our house this week! at our asking price!! We got the papers today. They want to close on May 15!

Papa's Birthday Party

Papa's 80th birthday was on Tuesday! Today we had a birthday party for him at the church. There was a pretty good turn out.

Below, Papa & Grana pose with their grandkids. Only one was missing who had to work today. Dad is on the back row.

These are their great grandkids. David was perfectly happy sitting in MawMaw's lap BEFORE the picture! Looks like it's about nap time!

Elizabeth was bright eyed after the picture.
You can tell in the picture below that David was very tired. He was at the garage sale all day Friday, and most of Saturday, so I can't blame him for being ready to go home! The kids & I left a little before the party was over. David was asleep before we got home.

Antique Alley, Saturday

Saturday was another day for Antique Alley. Most of the proceeds from the people selling in our house was going toward teen summer missions trips to Panama, Kenya, and Russia. Today a bake sale was added on the porch.

David enjoyed the first sale of the bake sale!
Elizabeth spent most of the day (both days, actually) in the arms of Heather, daughter of another family that was selling in the house. I think Heather is the one going to Kenya, maybe?

It was another busy day on the road. Several houses in Auburn were having sales, so the shoppers could park and walk to several sales.

Many antiquers were interested in the old mantle, but it goes with the house. Click on the picture to read the sign we ended up putting on the mantle. Then people started asking about the clawfoot bathtub!

Here's our old table:
Elizabeth enjoyed her day.

I took a break from the sale to go see Andy's baseball game. Here he is on third base.

Look closely and you can see the ball out in front of him!
This was a good hit & he got to 1st base... then he stole 2nd...
then he stole 3rd... then he stole home!
Yeah, Andy!!!

Antique Alley, Friday

Aunt Sissy said she wanted to see pictures from our big garage sale. Grandpa got some good pictures inside, too. I was surprised by the crowds out on Friday.

The lady driving this car (above) had her car full from other sales she'd been to already today. I passed this car coming back from picking Jesse up from school & it was hilarious to meet on the road! The antlers were sticking up over the top of the windshield. (Grandpa took this photo)

Click to enlarge the label on his tummy!
Grandpa added that, too! : )

Grandpa drove his golf cart down to the old house to try to sell his lawnmower.
