Photo Tag: Bump!

I can't believe I'm posting this... I've been reading some Mommy Blogs when I should be sleeping & thought, "What the heck... go for it!"

This was taken on December 17, 2006.

See the rest of the bumps logged over at Adventures In Babywearing.

Ladybug Mei Tai

Here it is - Today, I completed the next addition to my Baby Bug Line... an infant size Mei Tai. Before Elizabeth was born, I made a quilted wall hanging, Boppy cover, and a diaper bag in my ladybug theme.

Here we are in action! It's supposed to tie behind the baby's back like this until she can hold her head up by herself, I think. Then it will tie under her bottom like in the next pictures.

Elizabeth was apparently very comfortable and was asleep in no time!

Dad didn't believe that it would hold David, too... but I showed him! (even though the body was cut small for an infant, it still worked!)

Another Day Around the House

I know I said I was not going to applique any more ladybugs, but sometimes I think I just can't help it! I think this one was the best yet, though, so I guess I'm glad I did it! I was looking at a quilting magazine at HEB & noticed that their machine applique in their photos looked worse than mine! Made me feel better...

David has started reading books to himself. It's very cute. He even turns them right-side-up, now!

And Elizabeth has started enjoying things to look at. Here she is in the baby bed watching the bug mobile above her. She likes the musical light-up star that David used to love on the Baby Einstein play mat, too.

Is it just me...
or does this remind anyone else
of an old movie?

The Loud Geese

We went to the park on Saturday. When the wind stopped it was very nice outside. Unfortunately, the wind only stopped for about 30 seconds, so we didn't stay too long. David didn't mind throwing bread to the ducks and very loud geese, as long as they didn't get too close!

I was trying to capture
how well Elizabeth is
holding her head up.

More Smiling

Uncle Bubba - This is NOT gas! Of course, you probably can't see either of these on your dial up... not my fault!

This one's kinda long, but I can't edit my videos... sorry. I know my voice sounds like that annoying pop-up ad on Dad's webmail.

Caught Ya!

Have I mentioned lately just how pretty I think Elizabeth is???

Today David stopped what he was doing, said, "Kiss Lisbeth" and went over & kissed her!

The front of her hair is getting thicker finally and I know she's gaining weight!

I caught these 2 smiles today!
David most often calls her "Lizbeth" but sometimes calls her "E-bees" - which I think is just adorable! He came up with that all on his own.

Grocery Shopping

It's all a matter of perspective...

I remember life BC (before children). In the first year of marriage, a trip to get groceries was something we did together as husband and wife. We tried new things that looked good. It was fun.

Then we moved and conflicting work schedules plus the 30-minute drive to town changed the togetherness of grocery shopping.

Then David was born. I wondered how in the world I'd ever get the shopping done. But I got used to it & it got easier.

Then Elizabeth was born. I wonder how in the world I'll ever get the shopping done. I figured out that with the baby strapped to my chest and the toddler in the basket, it's not as hard as it was when David was new.

Then I ran into a friend at Wal-Mart today. A pregnant friend, who was pushing a basket with a preshooler in the seat and two older kids walking beside her... followed by her husband who was pushing a double stroller for the twins and had the baby on his back in a pack.

Suddenly my trip to Wal-Mart seemed easy. And I wondered if Mrs. Restivo still gives out little plastic perspective flies to her physics class...
