Flashback to Halloween

Halloween, 2005
This is for Hannah's mom! See, he did eat so much Mac & Cheese that he turned into a piece! This was before I discovered Blogger, or you would have seen pictures of it already!
All because I said one day, "You're going to eat so much macaroni & cheese that you turn into a it!"
Who knows where inspiration will be found...

Prunes, Duct Tape & Shorts, Oh My!
WARNING: Even with food in his mouth and on his face, this boy is licensed to charm!!!
Wondering how David is doing? Figure it out... Yesterday, I let him drink 4 glasses of undiluted apple & prune juice and fed him prune cereal for lunch and supper! Oatmeal and straight apple juice for breakfast today. Guess what? It worked!!! And he got an early bath tonight!!!
Yesterday morning: (notice the morning hair sticking out) Won't Grandpa & Papa be proud of David with his versatile toy?
In case you're not in the know... that is a roll of duct tape!
And for some strange reason, I think this would have been a shirt that Cousin Andy would have bought for himself...
We reached 78* this fine February day! After David walked out of his jeans several times, I pulled out these old shorts. They're size 12 mo, so I didn't know if they would still fit. Since the waist falls under his big tummy, no problem. The funny thing is - last summer when he was wearing these shorts, they came down to his ankles! Guess we can tell which direction he's been growing!
See the green beans on his plate? That's right where they stayed! Apparently eating his green beans was a one-time event!
Keep praying for Aunt Jana: MawMaw said the surgery went fine; she's resting at home tonight. Biopsy results in about a week.

For Aunt Jana

David wanted to remind everyone to pray for Aunt Jana. She's having surgery Wednesday morning at 8am to remove a lump.
We love you, Aunt Jana!

Kermit Rocks!
OK, this is not about David! Aunt Wee called me during the Super Bowl to see if I saw Kermit's commercial, but I was changing a diaper & missed it. I did find it online, though! See it now if you missed it!
Perhaps I have a new dream car... I think I'll go for the Titanium Green model!!!
In other news, Tort will be carrying on the tradition of Puddin' the Wonder Cat with his own website. The updated version (a blog, of course) will be POSH: A Day in the Life of a Fat, Yellow Cat. Watch it!

Super Bowl Sunday
David was not feeling good again this morning. He was very congested & snotty again. I gave him a dose of medicine & he fell asleep 15 minutes before we were planning on leaving for church, so we stayed home because I thought he needed the rest. When he woke up just before noon, he was feeling much better.
This evening we watched the first half of the Super Bowl at the fire station with Dad. Mom missed the commercial with Kermit while changing David's diaper. : (

The Sleeper, The Potty & The Green Bean

Usually naptime consists of Mom & David laying on the couch, reading one book and some Bible stories. Today, David fell asleep before the book was over! The book was a classic from Mom's childhood.

Mom went to Wal-Mart early this morning & David stayed home with Dad. We got a new piece of furniture... a training potty! We're not trying to use it yet, but just get used to it's presence in the bathroom. So far, David has tried to step into it and enjoys raising & lowering the lid. Now if I can just keep him lowering it...

A miracle happened at the dinner table. David ate his green beans! It's been months since he's eaten his green beans!!! He used to love them so much he would have eaten them as long as I kept dishing them out. Mom & Dad were both very excited!

David and the Yellow Balloon

When Mom & David got home from Grandma & Grandpa's yesterday, we went to Luby's for supper (so we wouldn't have to cook & we had a gift certificate from our realtor). They always have balloons tied to the high chairs. David ate very little after he got a hold of this yellow balloon.
Here he is trying to get into his chair for breakfast with the balloon. He did let go of it to eat.
He has taken the balloon with him all over the house today, playing with the ribbon & the balloon itself.
Here he is stopped behind the futon to play with a block, while still holding the balloon.
And now, he's making his way into his room.
Now he's reading & playing with the balloon in his room.
Later this afternoon, he was playing with the balloon in the living room. Here is the balloon in the swing.
Until the balloon mysteriously disappears, I think he will keep playing with it. You can see that it's not floating much by the end of the day.

Back at Home
Mom & David made it home safely, but David seems to be coming down with a cold - runny nose, sneezing, coughing. He went to bed earlier than usual with a triacting nightcap (cough & cold medicine). We saw this sign planted in the ditch on the way home. I was proud to be married to one!
David seems to have been influenced by Grandpa... he gave himself a bubble goatee then began to resonate in a low tone, which required him to sing out of the side of his mouth. : )
