Does Your Santa Know CPR?

If you've ever heard me talking about him before, you know that CPR Teddy gets me excited! Not only is he an adorable bear, he's a good helper and wants to help you be ready with your CPR skills.
I am an Independent Distributor for CPR Teddy. I sell them online. I don't make a lot, but it doesn't cost me anything but some time. And I am totally sold on the value of this product, myself.

This week I sold a bear kit to a grandma who's having Santa deliver it to her 5 grandsons on Christmas morning. How cool is that?!

And, if they're willing to pay international shipping (which is more than the bears!), I am also working on a deal with a lady from the Irish Red Cross for some bears for their training program.

Here's a little review of how you can use CPR Teddy:

And the Winner is...

I just wanted to thank everyone who entered my CPR Teddy Jr. giveaway! I had 38 entries and I loved hearing what you loved about the products. I wish I could give every one of you a free bear, but alas, I can't.

I used a random number generator to come up with the winner, commenter #29, Katy from Sycamore Stirrings. I have contacted her via her blog to see if she wants the Spanish or English version of CPR Teddy Jr. but haven't heard back from her yet...

From all the comments, it seems like CPR Teddy is new to many people. I can not brag enough about this bear. I hope you will seriously consider making CPR Teddy and/or CPR Teddy Jr. an addition to your home. Ordering is available 24/7 on our website: http://onemotherslove.com/

I found out this week that my deadline for pre-ordering CPR Teddy Jr. has been extended, so I'm extending my online sale, too! I hope to update our website this weekend to show the new deadline date of August 15, 2008, for the special low pre-order price on CPR Teddy Jr.

As a reminder:

CPR Teddy is the practice bear. You practice choking rescue and CPR skills on him as he talks you through the steps of each for both infant and child. Practice is encouraged at least once a quarter. Grandparents, baby sitters, and other caregivers can also practice on your bear. With a bear in your home, you can practice CPR as often as you think of it! Never practice CPR on a child and a CPR course with a certified instructor is still recommended.

Some hospitals are now giving the bears out to NICU patients and I've heard of one library who has a CPR Teddy available to check out.

CPR Teddy Jr. is not a practice bear, but a smaller, portable version. Junior is being regulated by the FDA and will talk you through the steps of CPR in an actual emergency. CPR Teddy Jr. will be released in December 2008, or earlier, and will be shipped at that time. The pre-order price of CPR Teddy Jr. on our website is considerably lower than the retail price will be later.

I also found out this week that Spanish CPR Teddy Jr. PROFESSIONAL is available to pre-order, as well. To order the Spanish bear, specify that at the check-out. Keep in mind that other language cartridges and CPR update cartridges will be available for CPR Teddy Jr. in the future!

Thank you, again, to everyone who participated in the giveaway and spread the word about it. I hope you will consider if your home needs a CPR Teddy and remember onemotherslove.com for all your future orders!

Works for Me: Practice!

Several of my commenters have mentioned how they've taken a CPR class in the past, but are not sure if they'd remember it if they needed to use it. I was the same way.
I've been practicing with my CPR Teddy bear for 2 years, now, and while I don't claim to be perfect by any stretch, I think I could handle performing CPR if I had to... not that I ever want to!
So, what works for me, to remember CPR skills, is practicing with my CPR Teddy!
Now, the little bear shown in this picture, is actually CPR Teddy Jr. He is not a practice bear, but is designed to walk you through the steps of infant or child CPR in an actual emergency! How cool is that?!? So if you freeze and can't remember, Junior will talk you through it! He's being released in December & I can't wait to get one in my hands.
I think these bears are one of the best inventions I have ever seen... so much that I'm now selling them on my website. But I'm giving away a CPR Teddy Jr. (to be delivered in December) right here on my blog this week! Click here to go to the giveaway post and enter to win!

Wow, it's been a while since I did a Works For Me Wednesday. I love this week's WFMW tip on the link there about keeping extra paint in jars. I'll have to do that with our extra paint!

It's Giveaway Time!!!

Will you remember CPR when it counts? I am so convinced that CPR Teddy can help, that I became a distributor in 2006. If you haven't heard how he works yet, here's the simplest explanation I have:
.
CPR Teddy is a teddy bear and a practice manikin for infant & child CPR. Of course, everyone should take a class with a trained professional, but then you should also practice on a regular basis so that you won't forget the skills. Never practice CPR on an actual child! The bear has voice prompts that walk you through the technique. An air bag in the bear's chest & a face mask allow you to actually give rescue breaths and see the rise & fall of the chest. A light on the bear during compressions alerts you if you're pressing too hard or too soft on the chest. It is recommended that you practice CPR skills at least once per quarter. With a bear in your home, you could practice as frequently as you wish... and a CPR Teddy bear is cheaper and less intimidating than an infant manikin.
.
CPR Teddy Jr. is a smaller version. He is not a practice bear. He is regulated by the FDA to walk you through the steps of infant or child CPR in an actual emergency! He has a clip on his head so that he can be fastened to a car seat, stroller, diaper bag, changing table, etc. This way he is always within reach. Junior will be released in December, but I am taking pre-orders now. I can hardly wait to get my hands on one of these, myself! This just in: CPR Teddy Jr. is also available to pre-order in Spanish!

I am running a special on my website, OneMothersLove.com, now through July 16: With the purchase of a CPR Teddy, you can add a pre-order for CPR Teddy Jr. for just $15.

.
But one lucky reader will win a CPR Teddy Jr. here!
.
To enter, visit my website, OneMothersLove.com, then come back here to leave a comment*, telling me what you like most about the CPR Teddy line. If the winner happens to have purchased the special on my website, I will refund the $15 for the Junior bear. The winner's bear will be shipped in December, or sooner if they are released earlier. The winner will also be able to select if you'd like your Jr. to speak English or Spanish.
.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about these products or any other CPR Teddy products, or for more information, please visit my website: OneMothersLove.com
.
Thanks for dropping by What's He Up To? and may you never have to use those CPR skills, but don't forget them either!
.
*If you're commenting to enter the giveaway, make sure to leave an email address or blog address for me to contact you!

Introducing Junior Bear...

You've probably heard me mention CPR Teddy by now. You're about it hear it again, because I think this is a great product! If you're not sure how CPR Teddy works, watch this 3:39 min video:
.

That's the president of the company doing the video. She's really nice, too!

Here is our CPR Teddy with David back when we first got Teddy in 2006. Aren't they both adorable?!?!

Now, the folks at CPR Teddy have been hard at work for over a year on CPR Teddy Jr. and his due date has finally been scheduled - December 2008! He can be pre-ordered now* through July 16 at a discounted price, though...
.
Junior is a smaller bear, about 8", with a clip on his head - designed to be clipped onto your diaper bag, carseat, high chair, or anywhere else you think he'd come in handy. The photo at right is the prototype bear. The final bear will be slightly different.

Like his full size big brother, CPR Teddy Jr. has voice prompts to walk you through the steps of Infant or Child CPR - and - he is regulated by the FDA as a medical device, designed to be used during an actual emergency! How's that for peace of mind, packaged as an adorable little teddy bear?!

I'm an independent distributor of CPR Teddy and now have my website set up so you can buy CPR Teddy, Junior, or any other CPR Teddy products 24/7 with the secure PayPal check-out. With PayPal, I can accept your PayPal account payment or your credit card payment... or you can mail me a check! : )
.
Visit my website for more information about any of the CPR Teddy products:
.
*Offer on CPR Teddy Jr. at the discounted pre-order price good through July 16, 2008.
After that date, pre-orders will be at the full price.
.
Hmmm.... I wonder if anyone would be interested in a GIVEAWAY for one CPR Teddy Jr. (to be delivered in December)?

Time to Practice CPR!

It's time to practice your CPR skills!
.
CPR Teddy's founders (an ER physician and a health care attorney) recognized that very few people remember how to do CPR shortly after taking a class. They wanted to create a practice aid that is inexpensive, non-threatening, and easy to use, but that also would be left out in the home and seen on a regular basis. They believed that if people could see the device, they would get an immediate memory prompt about CPR, but they may also pick it up and practice with it more often.

Tiny Talk Tuesday: A Big Week

There's been a lot of tiny talk this week! It makes me so proud to see David's vocabulary improve. He has come so far in the last year! Visit Mary at Not Before 7 to see more Tiny Talk!

Wednesday night we were late coming in from Cubbies. Dad was just inside the door flicking the light on & off, but David couldn't see him.
David: The light needs new batteries!

Coming home from dinner out with Dad's cousin, the sky was dark but a long wispy cloud was reflecting light from the Metroplex & appeared gray.
David: I see an amazing gray light.
Mom: An amazing gray light?
David: Yeah, a wonderful, amazing gray light!

Sunday afternoon we were hiking around our spot when we came across some critter poop on the path. David stopped for a closer look.
Mom: Some little animal pooped there; don't touch it.
David: It's lion poop!

As we pulled out from that trip, the sun was behind some looming storm clouds. Beautiful rays of sunlight were streaming out from the clouds, but you couldn't see the sun.
David: Mom, the sun is stuck in those clouds!

While watching my favorite show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, one of the kids got a drum set in his room. David quickly scanned the room & found a box to drum on. Enter Dad, who joined the drum fest on the box...
lots of drumming on a cardboard box noise
David: You're a good drummer, Dad!
And he is!

Later, I was talking to Dad in the bathroom...
David: Why are you being so complicated, Mom?
I have no idea where he heard that one!

Elizabeth has also picked up on some signs and has signed "milk" a few times before nursing! Here she is with our CPR Teddy, which I practiced on today. When was the last time you practiced your Infant & Child CPR skills?

The Great RR Heist

Perhaps only a rail fan (or the wife of one) could understand the joy Dad had today when he, Curt and Phillip dug through the dumpster at the rail yard! With the Union Pacific's OK, the three of them panned for gold in the scrap metal dumpster and did not leave empty handed. They ended up with 3 signal heads and this huge mast to mount them on. Yeah... you're gonna see pictures of that thing mounted in my yard in a few years...

Don't they look like a motley crew?
I don't know how they got that onto the trailer!

In other news, Andy called home from Thailand today & is doing well. His team is called the Tuk Tuks. I think Lauren is still at her training camp.

BTW... Have you met CPR Teddy yet?
